Revisiting...
I managed to sneak outside before it got cold this weekend. (FINALLY! I've missed my winter chill)
Much happier with these shots than those I took before. Time to update the shop!

Time to come out!
I've been hiding away these past few weeks, resting and working. I just wrote a letter to a dear friend telling her how I have imagined writing to her for weeks. It's been the same for you readers too. I keep imagining sitting down, typing out my thoughts and showing my photos. If I would have written as much as I imagined, you would have had a post a day! Sometimes two! So. I'm going to try to buckle down. Every time I think of blogging, I'm going to try my best to actually DO it. I like sharing my thoughts, I love sharing may work. You all offer such wonderful encouragement, I know I will feel better for sharing! There's nothing to fear here, it's a happy place!
With that said, I've just updated the shop with four of my newest pieces... They are all headbands, a project I've been working on since just before Christmas. My brilliant yoga instructor asked if I made headbands, and she helped push me on to this branch of leather work that is simply inspiring!

The bands have a base piece, which is where the tooled flowers, etc are located. I then weave a thinner piece of leather through the appropriate holes along the base piece. This allows you to move the focal point to any part of your head. Feel like having flowers at the tippity top of your head? Done. Rather have them tucked above your ear? Done! All have adjustable elastic around the back of the head.

hope you are having a wonderful start to the new year!

The thoughts of the day
I'm tired. I was victim to the Ick last week, and I'll spare you the details, but I'm still not 100%. The drainage is awe-striking in its determination to stick around. Sigh. I get sick so rarely, I forget how much time it takes for my body to righten itself after going all wonky-like.
Either way, I started tooling a new belt last night before I went to yoga (which helped SO much!)
But the more importantly, the belt is for someone out there who is not me! I'm very excited to present a woven belt on my etsy shop, the one I made myself (as most prototypes are) is very special to me. I hope that once this beauty is finished, you'll find it just as lovely and soul strengthening as I find mine.
In the mean time, this cuff will hit the shop this weekend, I just need to measure it so you can make sure it fits you... It's small on me, so I'm guessing it runs somewhere around a 7 to 6.5" wrist. (yes, I apparently have MONSTER wrists... and fingers, but hey, it has some advantages!)
hope you have a wonderful night. Love you all!

I've been working! Really!
I set a snap! Hooray!!!! Thanks to some lovely advice from this fabulous lady, I bought the right setting tool and can't wait to get the back logs of ideas out of my head and onto leather! ( do go visit, she has a sale and a contest going on right now!)
This baby is the tester, I think she looks a bit like a sea horse, don't you think?
This cuff will be finished soon, I have to sew the flower on, cut it out, and set the snap! YAY SNAPS!
And here's a little fox, the photo is crappy, I know, but I'm very excited about him! And his brother, he got a daytime scene! I'll take better photos this weekend and pop them into the shop!
Hope you're having a wonderful evening! It's raining right now, I love the sound of raindrops on leaves, but I do hope the wind doesn't get too crazy!

The Cat has been dragged back in
Hello from groggy land! I've just returned from Maker Faire! My lucky self got sent there by my big job and we taught over 300 people how to knit and crochet in 2 days! yikes! Plus I double booked myself and had to do a bit of an Etsy update for a showcase I scheduled the same weekend. (new stuff here)
Needless to say, I'm still very sleepy from all the action, but can't wait to get back to the stuido to make a very special birthday cuff for someone who is just dear and sweet. Infact, why wait! I'm off now, with more photos to come later, of the cuff, and of Maker Faire.
In the mean time, here's my brush with fame!!
Thanks Chris~ this was a lovely surprise to find on the Make Magazine site yesterday!

Shop Update!
I just added a goodly number of bracelets/cuffs to the shop! It feels so good to share these pieces with you!
I'll be back in the studio tomorrow, I have new ideas and can't wait to show you! I'm really shakin' those tail feathers lately and am loving it. Even with the most recent learning curves dumping me in the ditch, I'm pleased with what I'm doing and how I'm adapting. I learned I need a rivet/snap press. badly. But I won't let it keep me down, it actually turned out to be a better thing that I can't put in a pretty snap to save my life.
UGH! I was going to show you the new design I made this week, the whole thing is hand made, there's no metal at all! BUT blogger is being super weird-snafooie and it won't let open the photo add page. It has been doing it all weekend so far, and I had to switch from one internet thingy to the other, and that seemed to work until now. Boo!
I'll just take it as a sign to go to bed. I'll try again in the morning.
sweet dreams!
